How to get Autodesk Inventor Fusion not to open

I have a quick question. I downloaded a .step file from a construction website www.mcmastcarr.com. It is of a screw. Anyway I want to edit the screw but when I open it, it opens as a weird ipt. It's like the part is an assembly but it's not a logo that I worked with before. I attached a PDF to this blog to really help show you what i'm trying to explain and what steps I took. Anyway I right click on the Base1 file and hit edit form. When I do that Autodesk Inventor Fusion opens. Is there a way I can edit this part in normal Autodesk Inventor or do I have to learn how to use the fusion program? Sorry for the confusing way I wrote this. I hope the pdf will help you all you helpers out. Thank You, Michael

tools..application options..Part tab..

"edit base solids using" section

uncheck Fusion and check "legacy solid edit environment"

and a step is a "dumb/neutral solid" its not an editable feature based solid as far as Inventor is concerned.. BUT you can still modify the heck out of it.. (more help to come when I can find some tutorials for you)

Your link did not work. Is this a special screw?

I try not to use mcmaster-carr because is has threads cut in their hardware and makes a mess of things.

I may have what you need in Inventor format. I have over 750,000 hardware modeled...
