How to determine Delta X,Y,Z locations using a specified referance point????

Any one know?? For instance using the IV measure distance tool one can
determine the X,Y & Z as they relate to the origin of the part, but what if
you need to determine their locations from a non origin point? See the
problem in CF under "Change the "WCS" also related discussion in IV5.3
Newsgroup.

(This is assuming that I understand the problem correctly 🙂

There is a macro out there (I think Kent has a link on his site) named The
Ruler that can do this.

Didn't see the other thread but it does measure deltas from any point to any
other point.

OK I read the other thread. The Rule Macro gives a delta in Inventor's XYZ
coordinates. I think he needs to know the deltas in the part's coordinate
system. If that's true, you can find the deltas in the world UCS and then
do a coordinate transformation (break out the Vector Calculus book) and find
the deltas in the part coordinate system.
