How to convert models in Inventor Drawings to AutoCAD blocks

All,

Is there a way to convert the inventor models from an inventor drawing into AutoCAD blocks?  Also, to be greedy, can I also have the blocks automatically locate relative the Inventor model origin?  Please let me know the steps to accomplish this.  If you have an questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Hope all is well and have a most blessed day!

Peace,

Pete

All,

I guess I should have just kept digging, but I found a good solution that I summarize here:

1. Create your Inventor drawing as a DWG

2. Place the necessary views and save the drawing

3. Open the drawing in AutoCAD

4. Switch to model space

5. Launch the INSERT command and select the view you want.

6. Insert the view that you want (insure to 0,0 if you want to place relative to the inventor model origin) (Might have to change some of the settings on the drawing tab of the Application Options)

7. Save the Drawing

I didn't come up with this, but thought the summary could help.  The original blog post is listed below.  Have a most blessed night!
