How to change object surface color?

I would like to crated one part have has more than one colors.

1. Different color between external surface and inside ,
For example, if I make a hole on black painted wood, inside the hole surface should be a wood color not black.

2. Different color on external surfaces
if I would like to create a box that has different color on each sides, how can i do it?

Thank you very much

RMB on the feature in the browser and in properties change the colour. IV can colour features separately so a cube which is a single feature will have to be one colour. However, if you make the cube oversize and take a cut from each face separately, each cut face can be couloured separately. Perhaps an easier way would be to make the cube oversize and use the thicken function with a negative value. I just tried the thicken function and the face colour wouldn't change. It looks like you will have to take a cut from each face separately to change the colour.

Just right click on any face and select properties. There you can change the face to any color you wish.
You can change the color of any face you can select.
