Uninstall IV7 and delete the Inventor 7 directories
in \Programs Files\Autodesk\.

Then reinstall IV7.

Would repairing IV take it down to
SP0?

When I have done this, IV still reports sp1.
I guess that means repairing preserves servicepacks.
But do not ask me how this is possible, when it repairs from CD (sp0).

Repair maintains SP's, this has been mentioned several times before and also
confirmed by Autodesk.

Is this in response to an error message that a certain entry point could not be found? We had the same problem when installing the service pack that consisted of replacing the dl.dll file. We removed the new file and changed the name of the old file to its original name and everything seems to be working fine.

HOWEVER. I am a CAD teacher who is getting ready to teach Inventor for the first time, so I don't claim this is the cure-all, only that it seems to have worked so far.
