how do you make active constraints in sub assemblies

Hello All

Does anyone know how you can keep constraints active in sub assemblies so that when I am moving a subassembly the extra movement say in a transitional constraint is able to move so I can see if the total movement allowed is to much?

hi dave,

not 100% sure I understand what you need but ...


ensure that the relevant parts located in your sub assembly are free to move in the manner that you require them to move when you are dragging the sub assembly around in the parent assembly.

then save and close the sub assembly.

from within the parent assembly, make that sub assembly to be "flexible". so that way, as you move the sub assembly around, anything that impacts the position of those parts will cause them to move according to the constraints that you have previously defined.
