Start a new assembly file.
Save the file.
Start the Gear Generator ) (Design Tab) and enter the specifications.

Just so you know, Inventor does not create a true gear tooth profile only an approximation.

Please mark this response "Accept as solution" if it answers your question.

Turn the visibility of the sketches on.

Have you gone through the tutorials?

No, he's talking about the second account he's going to have to create if he wants help after the ban hammer teaches him some basic manners when it drops in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ...

Hi

Can you advise how to make true gear (ready for production) from the design accelerator.

Thanks

You should have started a new thread for this.

Search for True Involute tooth profile.

This topic has been covered here many times in the past.

If your search does not turn up the solution threads - post back and I will find them for you.

Thanks very much for a quick reply.

I found several posts covering this subject. I am able to do that now. But
I have few more concerns. I have to make a gear with helix angle of 20
degree. I have exported the tooth profile from the design accelerator. It
gives me a model with one tooth profile. I just extrude it and circle it to
make a gear. That's all good but I am wondering how to make the same gear
with helix angle of 20. I am trying to wrap my head around this. (I am
trying a pinion gear and an internal gear)

Also, I want to send the information to a custom gear manufacturer to make
this gear physically. I don't know too much technical knowledge about spur
gears. I need some help (study material) or someone's help to finalize all
the technical details to give to the gear manufacturers.

Where can I find such a help. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks a ton !!

Regards
Manjinder

The gear manufacturer should know more about the geometry than you can know after several months of study.

I recommend that you simply give them the specifications and let them use their experience to manufacture the gears

(if  you don't already know the specifications - that is a couple of weeks of study)

or

better yet,

use off-the-shelf gears if you can.  Much less expensive.

The gear manufacturer should be willing to work with you to arrive at the best solution based on their experience.

What gear manual are you using to learn about gear geometry?  (Author and Title?)

What materials will be used to manufacture the gears?

What type of application and environment will they be used in?
