How do I recover a file after a crash

I know this was just discussed recently but I can not find the thread right
now.
I had a crash, and would like to recover at the point I was at just before
it hasppened. I know, I should "save often" but I didn't and now I am
hoping to just recapture the file.
I believe I read that you can do this with a temp file that is created at
the time of the crash. Is this true? What is the file called and how do I
use it to get back to where I was?
Thanks for any assistance given.

They are known as transcript files. However you had to have transcripting
turned on (via iTweak) before you crashed.
