How do I purge/clear the definition of a deleted component?

I would like to get rid of the following problem:

1) Create a new assembly

2) Place the component Part1

3) Delete the component jast inserted (now Part1 is not used)

4) Create a new part

5) Save as Part1 -> it says "cannot give a document the same name as an open document (or a document that is referenced by an open document, e.g. a part/assembly referenced by a drawing). Enter a different name for the document you owant to save."

This is a simplified sequence. My real application is a VBA macro that does something similar. The first time works, the second time gets stuck because it remembers the component just deleted.

Thanks,

Stefano

Close and re-start Inventor is the only way I have been able to solve this issue

Inventor 2020, In-Cad, Simulation Mechanical

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

Found: Inventor - Manage - Refresh.
