Hello,
I
need to make a sheetmetal part (from 0.035 Stainless
Steel) which is a long
rectangular sheet (about 3 by 22
inches) with a long rectangular slot
(about 1 by 12
inches) centered along the length, and then the
sheet
bent with a 4.5 inch radius into a U-shape. This item
will
be the side of a chamber, and the slot will be
a window into the
chamber.
I have started with creating the U-shape bent sheet
by
creating the two legs of the U and then adding a
'full-radius' bend between
them to create the curve
of the U. This works fine.
Now how do
I put in the slot? It does not seem to
be something that I can draw
onto a plane and then
project onto the curve of the U and get what I
want.
I was going to draw the profile of the slot and sweep
it
around the U, but the sweep command does not seem to
be
available.
What I would like is to draw this sheet as a flat
pattern
and then have Inventor bend it!
Thanks for any
help,
Scott
