How do I change the scale to inches to feet in idw?

I can't find the option that changes the scale from 1/100 to 1/16" to 1'-0" or how to have the scale show up on a drawing. I've gone into options and turned on the scale visibility but get squat on both.

I assume this is an easy fix but the help files just tell me I'm in a helicopter.

Also where can I find a list of the title block text options ie. ,

Can you provide me with some information? What Release are you running? It
sounds like you want to change the scale of the idw - or are you trying to
change the scale of the views? As for having the scale show up in the
drawing, do you want it in the title block or under the view? For the title
block, if you edit the title block, then select text to place on the title
block. You should get a format text dialog. Under Type, there is sheet
properties and drawing properties. There is a number of items within that
list to choose from.

Thank you

I'm to change the scale of the drawing in an .idw. In MDT when I set the scale of a drawing I had a pull down w/ 1' to 1/4", 1' to 1/8" & 1:100 1:50 etc. All I can seem to input is the 1:100 style. I realize I can enter a decimal but I assumed there had to be a way to put in the architectural style. It's just easier to put an architectural style then write it out each time for every drawing and manually change it.

Thanks for the properties bit.

The scale input in all of the drawing view dialogs accepts decimal (.50),
fractional (1/2) and ratio(1:2) inputs. This has been true since R11 I
believe.

Moreover, you can manage the content of the scale drop-down by going to
Format > Styles and Standards, selecting your active standard, and slick on
the Preset Values drop-down (on the General tab)

Hope that helps,

I have a similar problem... I'm designing a house and want to change the measurements in idws from inches to feet. As in i want it to say 1 ft rather than 12 in. Is this possible? (2012 version)

This question has not been answered yet.  I have the same issue.   I have created layouts with views at 1:4 and 1:8 and submitted to my client and they are requesting that these views be represented as 3" = 1'-0" and 1 1/2" = 1'-0" respectively.  In MDT these options were possible as part of the view scale pull-down list.  How do you set this up in Inventor?   Manually editing the label is dangerous.  For example, I gave the redline notes to a detailer that works for me and this person incorrectly changed a 1:10 view to read 1"=1'-0".   I have looked at Styles Editor and I do not see where to set this up.

Thank you.

Changing drawing scales is accomplished here:

But I don't think you can express the scale in feet per your requirements.

Yes, as you may have read in my post. I am aware of where the option should be located. If the answer is "inventor doesn't have this as an option" then my searching would be complete.

You wrote: "Yes, as you may have read in my post. I am aware of where the option should be located"..   But in your original posting you say

How do you set this up in Inventor and  I have looked at Styles Editor and I do not see where to set this up.

So to us (or me) it comes across as though you didn't know how to add drawing scales to your style...  As far as I know its not possible but someone else may have a trick in accomplishing it.

Scale will show in feet per the request.  You just have to type it in that way and it will show up in the titleblock if you set it up to do so.

This works fine for those who usually draw in Architectural Units - In other words, most do not use 1/16 as a scale to represent 3/4" = 1'-0". Go to Standard, Default Standard (ANSI) - Then General Tab, at Preset Values change to show Scale. Then Click New - IF one types 1/2" = 1'-0", or 3/4" = 1'-0", ect... it recognizes the math and the drop down will list those as new scale values.  I tested these in changed the view properties to these scale and it scale the views up or down to the scale factors perfectly, just as if one had used the others like 1/16 or 1:16 ect...

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

This didn't come up in any of the searches I did this week but I finally found it... after doing it manually.  I posted a screen shot of your answer as the solution for mine.  I only wish you could get credit for it.

Thanks again!!

Hi! You can change the standard unit in the drawing from inch to foot. You are not trying to expand or contract geometry, right?

Many thanks!
