How can I splice an equation/hyperbolic curve to an ellipse?

Hi

I am new to inventor and need help to create an ellipsoid with a hyperbolic funnel on the end.

How can I join an equation curve to an ellipse to create revolved ellipsoid shape? I also have

alias and fusion if these are needed. If anyone can offer some advice I would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

 Hi

The equation is y = 1/x which creates a hyperbolic curve. I usually create the curve

and then try to move it adjacent to the ellipse but I'm not sure how to seamlessly

join the two shapes/curves.

I have ordered a mastering inventor 2013 book that I'm hoping will help me to have

a better understanding of Inventor's workflow and capabilities.

Thanks.

Attach the file here.  Avoid making extra work for responders.

You'll have to forgive me but I'm not willing to post files that I've been

working on as they relate to products I'm trying to develop. I'm not

asking anyone to do it for me all I want is a little direction so I can teach

myself how to do it.

I think the key to your issue is to make the shape with more than one sketch element.
