Holes in a set of parts

I have 4 inherited parts that go to an assembly that are not bolted together, so bolted connection won't do. I want to have the same hole placement in all of them but not necessarily the same hole. Is there any way I can make a master template to place the holes and when the template changes the parts change?

Note: iPart would work if I had started from scratch, but I got these parts from someone else's previous work and I need to make changes.

As suggested, there are several ways you could do this.

You could create a template part sketch and Derive Component the sketch into all parts.

You could place both parts in a sub-assembly and Project Geometry sketch from one part to the other editing the second part in the context of the assembly (Adaptive techique).

If you run into trouble - can you attach your parts here?

Another way (and possibly easiest giver you have the inherited parts)
Giver part a,b,c & d.
In part a, create a sketch with named dimensions. Mark the dimensions for export.
In parameters, link parts b, c, & d to part a.
Create the same sketch in each using the exported named parameters.
Update part a and the others will update to it.
