Yeah ... been like that a long time. Think it's because it can't reach it;
the hole in question would be on the other side of the model because the
wrong end of the model is stuck on the view plane. Lot of things you have to
model a certain way to get around the way Inventor thinks. Thing is: if they
did fix it where it would work, I probably wouldn't think to model that way
... been do'n it the other way too long. I'm still wait'n on'em to allow
by-directional holes though, but maybe they don't because they wouldn't
dimension except in a section view.

(I hope this hasn't been asked before, but a search yielded nothing.)
I am trying to place a hole note on a thru hole that meets up with a blind
hole that started on the opposite face. However, when I try to place the
note for the smaller thru hole in the bottom view, IV selects and places a
hole note for the larger blind hole (see images). One of the two Hole Notes
in the bottom view should be .38 THRU. As you can see in "Bad Hole
Note1.jpg", I can pick the thru hole in the top view,
but not in the bottom one.
If I go back to the ipt and re-order the holes (i.e. move Hole2 before
Hole1) I can then place the notes correctly, but if I swap the order again I
get the notes shown in image 5 of the series.
I found some old posts that alluded to feature order having something to do
with what the Hole Note command sees. Has any of this been resolved? I'm
using IV10SP3.
Thanks,
Tony
