Hole edit, Crash

Perhaps you are already aware of it. But every time I try to edit the hole diameter in the flat stock in this assembly, Inventor 2012 Pro (service pack 1) crashes. Does this happen for others? Is there a patch available?

Running windows 7 ulitmate, 64 bit.

Thanks

Wayne

I think there is an update that addresses a crash when editing a hole feature. Not sure if it addresses your issue.

I get the same error with the link now. Not sure why they took it down, but I cant find it anywhere now. The number for it was 17804875. Do you have both the 2012 SP1 and the "Multiple Issue Addressed" Hotfix installed?

They are both here

Try installing these and see if it fixes you problems.

Yes I have installed 17804780,17804829, and again 17804875, anlong with Service pack 1... Still have the hole issue. I believe it might be time to reinstall it...

sounds like its a repeatable crash.  What are your steps to reproduce it?

Ok,

Looks like I have narrowed it down. Steps as follows to recreate crash.

1. Creating an *ipt sketch 6.00x6.00 or what ever you want.

2. Extrude 1.00 (accepting default value)

3. Inserting hole, choose linear placement (default), 0.25 dia (default).

4. Choose 1st edge.

5. Choose 2nd edge.

6. Hit enter or apply

7. Dbl click hole in Browser to edti.

8. Click in form to edit hole diameter..

CRASH!!

Is this recreatable to you.

Interestingly, these steps will not cause a crash:

1. Same as above

2. Same as above

3. Insert hole, choose linear placement (default), 1.00 dia (or something other than default).

4. Hit enter.

5. Dbl Click hole to edit

6. Now select linear edge for hole placement

7. Hit enter or apply... Hole dia is also editable at this point as well..

Editable part....

Any thoughts?

Wayne

Mine doesnt crash when I follow your steps and use the default  hole size.  I am running Inv 2012, sp1.  Here is a screen shot of my "About Inventor".  The only update I have applied to 2012 is the SP1.
