Hello,

I am new here on the discussion board.

I need some help to draw a hexagonal in a tube "like a catalyst from your car is".

The main idea is to print it in 3D.

I tryed to draw a hexagonal in a tube "Diam: 80 mm, Length 100 mm.

I can draw the hexagonal BUT I am not succeeding in it to draw them in a circel.

Any help I appreciate ...

Thank you,

Where did you go?

This should only take 4 minutes - looks like you have been working on this for 4 months

You will have to respond to questions to get the solution.

Hi JDMather,

Thank you for responding to my question.

As you maybe could see or find here on the discussion board, is that I ask this question and help befor.

The problem is that I can create the hexagonal, but I can't manage to get them in a circel that they realy fit fot 3D printing.

This picture is what I talking about.

The heagonal must be 5 mm and the diameter of the circel that ALL of them fit is ø80 mm the lengt "hight" is 100 mm.

I hope that I am clear enough, if you have any questins in matter to my discribtion please let me know.

Kind regards,

See if this helps..

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-general-discussion/is-there-an-easier-way-to-make-a-honeycom...

I can't think of any "tricks" to only constrain the pattern to an outer circle right now..

I guess "adjust" with rectangle pattern

Maybe this is acceptable..see attached 2016 file..

Is your question an AutoCAD question or is it an Autodesk Inventor question?

What version of Inventor are you using?

Are you a student or commercial user?

Can you post a screenshot of your "Inventor 2012"?

Students can get Inventor 2016 for free at this site http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity

It would be much easier to communicate with a more recent release of the software.

Since you have an old version of Inventor you won't be able to open anything I send you.

This screencast should show you how I did it though.
