help! section view on part trap!

I've sectioned a part using the section view tool that's normally only available in assemblies and now the tool is greyed out and I can't un-section it!

I didn't even know you could section parts. Maybe you can't and I've found a loop hole and now I'm trapped. I've closed and opened Inventor but it still is coming up sectioned.

It also begs the question why doesn't Inventor let you section parts?

What am I missing here?

Section tool is now available in ipt as well as iam environement.

Looks like you have used Delete Face to get a surface body.  Why?

Yes, you're right. When was ipt section view introduced?

I was creating a part to fill the void in an assembly.

If I lift the EoP to make it a solid I can take it out of section view and then move EoP again.

An Inventor programming error?
