Help Please!! Colorblind person!!

Help Please! I need to create an ivory color and a Pantone cool gray 1 for
a plastic enclosure. Any hints would be GREATLY appreciated. Detailed
instructions would be better! The color chart without the names of the
colors is basically useless to me. HELP!
Aswim in a sea of unknown colors!!

Thanks!

Could you do a texture with the appropriate color in a program (paint) that
allows you to put in the specific numbers for each color in the misture ie
255,255,255 --> white. Then apply that texture to the part?

Can you be a little more specific? Colorfully clueless!
Thanks.

Mark is talking about describing the color by it's HEX values or by the RGB
values (or by the hue, saturation and lumination values). For example
255,255,255 is the RBG value for white and 0,0,0 is the value for black.
(e.g.255,0,0 is pure red) so if you could find the RGB or hex values for
the color you can set those in a paint program and never need to know what
color ivory looks like...

go into paint then colors/edit colors then expand the menu and play around
with the color values..

Format/Colours start a new colour. Press the ambient box. Define custom
colours. Enter the hue, sat, lum or RGB then OK.

Thank you Sean. I'll give it a go. (FYI - In small densities, I can't tell
difference between blue and purple, red & some greens, brown & some greens,
gray & some greens, yellow & orange, pink & tan, pink & some greens, and
probably more - can't see LED colors at all). This is why I never pursued a
degree in electronic engineering! Wire & resistor color code hell!

An electrician in the assembly shop is color blind. I never understood how
he could wire up these panels full of multicolored wires.

Now Mike you know that guys have 8 basic colors (ROYGBIV) and

1. combinations of them: red-orange or blue-green
2. variations of a color e.g. blue-ish, green-ish
3. rules 1 & 2 together redish-brown

Whenever my wife talks about painting something eggplant or orche I ask her
to describe it in "man terms"

Thanks Ken - Earlier I searched for the RGB codes and already bookmarked
that site. What I really need is to match up to Pantone (PMS) colors (no
RGB codes listed on my hardcopy guide). Guess I need to get a new Pantone
guide with the RGB codes on it. Thanks for all of your help.

Another aside: Failed my first driving test for not stopping at a flashing
red light (thought it was a flashing amber - slowed down and went through
it). Those darn flashing lights are tricky! (for the color impaired!)

Pretty cool - but does this table have 16 million rows? 😉
