Help on unfolding a solid part

Hi there ,

I want to unfold a solid part Using Inventor, the part file is attached is anyone knows pleae do let me know. the part file consist of a base and a cylindrical feature. I am looking to unfold the cylindrical part. i have tried converting it into a sheetmetal and cut the cylinder  then also it dose not works.

Hi.

You have to understand the concept of a part and assembly.

If you want to flat one part you must have only that part you want to flatten.

Check the part attached.
