HALF SECTION VIEW IN .IAM WON'T SHOW UP IN THE .IDW

In the .iam file, I created a "half section view" and saved it as a design
view.
Can the "half section view" be shown in the .idw file ???
Thanks.

No, the design view does not retain this information. You will need to
create a section view in the IDW.

The reason I don't want to create a section view in .idw 'cause the .iam
including 4 springs and it'll take forever to do that. I don't want the
detail the but to show the springs in the isometric view.
Just thought I could do a short cut but it can't, huh ...

You can mark parts such that they will not appear in section views in IDWs.
Do a bit of searching on the NG and you'll find out how to do this. This
was the springs won;t be shown in the section.

You should be able to create a design view that has the visibility of the
four springs turned off and then create your section from that view.

Sorry to mislead you guys. Here is what I want:
I have a housing with 4 springs inside. I want to show in .idw a half
section view of the housing and 4 springs in the ISOMETRIC view WITHOUT
creating a proj. section view.

Chris - in the Browser: in the view you'll eventually make the half section
view from RMB and choose 'Show Contents', then find your springs in the assy
tree and RMB uncheck 'Section'. Then it won't be as slow - I think.
