Geeze! No iron in materials?

I can't believe that AutoDesk has not made iron one of the standard
materials! Since it's not, I'll have to make it a new material again.
There's some work to be done here. It would be nice when your working in
english units to be able to enter english units into IV. Is there a way to
copy a material from one file to another?

Format ....Organizer

Also I have a couple of utilities for copying materials to multiple files at my site in
the iCode section

Did you ever see R1? It had only a handful of materials and colors.
Charles, Ron, Dan, Gerry and I made up a bunch of materials and colors and
what you see in Inventor now is the product of what we made and posted. If
you make new materials or colors post them and maybe they'll make it into
the next release.

Kent has some VBA routines to copy materials into multiple files
http://www.mymcad.com/KWiK/Mcad.htm

If you just want to copy into a few files go to format/organize and select a
source file to copy from. Copy them into your template file to have them
available to all new parts.

Yea, I had R1 briefly. Most of my designs are steel. I was surprised to
see Lexan, but no iron.

Thanks for the help. I'll post my iron file.

That's due to what I said before. When we made up these materials, we
created the ones we used the most. Lexan was one that I used a lot (machine
guarding) at that time..

I was surprised to see some of my colors show up in R5, (I think it was),
with the prefix "lc-" still in the color names. They were on there because I
hadn't made a Delta and didn't get edited before the release came out I
guess.

Not sure if this would be helpful or not, but I was just on the tenlinks
website, www.tenlinks.com and if you look at the top center of the page
there is a hyperlink for texture libraries. Maybe this will have some stuff
you are looking for.
