Garbalded Text Solution?

see the thread in R6 posted by John Elliot of Autodesk

reposted here..(Don't know why it didn't get posted here too?)

"Are you seeing this problem in R6 or R7?
text garbled (some characters black boxes) after save of drawing

Here's a quick workaround that should help users suffering from this
problem --

Find or create the following registry entry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion7.0\System\Prefe
rences\Driver

REG_DWORD "Text Options" = 0x00000000

Run Inventor and see if the problem no longer happens.

We need to know if this does not fix this problem.

I have "Options" and "Warning Options" under R7. Then I have "Optimization
Level", "Options", and "Warning Options" under R6. Nether shows a "Text
Options"

Could it be:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion7.0\System\Graph
ics\Hardware Library 2.0

?

He said

"Find or *create* the following registry..."

so you may not have it...

I've placed a file in iCF. Unzip it and double click on it. It will create
the required registry key.

Oh!

I was ask earlier this morning if I had my morning coffee yet. I said no, I
don't drink coffee. Maybe I should have considered that as a hint.

Thanks,
Matt

Funny - I just opened an IDW in Iv7 from an Iv6 project and it had these
black boxes.
I hit save and the black boxes corrected themselves to the correct text....
