I need to make parts of a model/assembly generate frost build-up.
Thusfar the results I'm getting look more like foam build-up.
Aside from playing with the lighting and such to knock down the "shine" factor, anyone have any suggestions to keep it from looking like a foam bundt cake pan (in this example)?
I'm thinking of maybe taking a HD picture of some actual frost and creating a bitmap/texture to use in place of Inventor's "Course Textured - White".????
Thanks
Try creating a new color style. Using a seamless bitmap like one of the attached.
Make the color style semi transparent and tweak the ambient, diffuse, specular and emissive colors to achieve the desired effect.
It usually takes some playing around with them to get what you want.
Thanks!
Yeah, his is what I was looking at having to do.
I'll see what I can get out of those attachments and post the results here once I get permission to share the final product.
