Since i didn't have time to really make anything this week, i decided to try rendering the glass from last friday in 3DS Max during my lunchbreak.
Since time was short, never having learned 3DS Max and feeling utterly lost in that software, i think it came out kinda nice.
I used one of the example files for the environment setup and managed to get the glass in there.
(that was the first chore to figure out)
Then i managed to position it and get a preview render done, which went well enough.
Applying a more realistic looking glas was another chore, it's great software but i'd really have to take a lot of time to learn it.
Anyway, here are the results:
It would probably need a whole lot more setting up to get it to look proper, but for 30~40 min work this isn't bad.
I'll probably stick to ShowCase...

Here's what I've been working on the last two weeks. A stair tower addition at a refinery and a skid. I wish I knew how you guys always got your pictures to look so much better than mine. I guess I can't complain. I only spent a few minutes setting up each of these and then let them render while I am lunch or something.
