Been working on this on/off for a while now.  This is a tool to weld automotive lens together.

Does working on a modern trebuchet count?

It's a LONG way from complete, but here's the arm assembly so far.

Specs:

   - 75" axle to hook tip

   - rope-over-cam counterweight attachment

   - 18" radius cam

   - 1000lb counterweight (24" x 24" x 1/4" steel plates in carrier rack)

A comparably sized trebuchet with the usual free-hanging counterweight should launch a 10lb... pumpkin... about 600ft downrange.  I'm hoping this new design can up that to about 750ft.  (900ft would be the theoretical range if 100% efficient.)

(What does one have to do to be able to post something larger than 5kb?!?)

Sounds sweet!
The site is messing up today. If you post it as an attachment instead of as an inline image it should work.

No.  No it doesn't.  Maybe I'll try again later.  {sigh}
