Learned a nice ShowCase feature because of this as well, kinda made me facepalm because i was going roundabout.
ShowCase can publish Photoshop files with shadows and background seperated!!!!

This one gets to use a number of ADSK software. The frame is done in Inventor, the FEA is done is Simulation Mechanical which is then exported as a FBX file and the render is done is Showcase to get the shadows on the "floor".
