I used Paint Pro Plus Premium 2016 Edition (Unreleased to Public).  I gave it a retro shading to make it look old school.  Turned out really well!

Yeah and I went with the 2D look... 3D is too mainstream and over-rated.....

In all seriousness, these images are unbeliveable! My best attempt would still look like my 2D paint blob Smiley Very Happy

I've taken the liberty of making your image more mainstream... even though Illustrator is no match for Paint Pro Plus 2016.
