Hi, all
Im using frame generator, i create my skeleton part, start up frame generator, select my frame types and connect them to the lines, press OK, accept the default filenames then get this error:
[WARNING] Frame Generator: Errors occurred during inserting Frame Member(s)
[WARNING] Insertion of frame member(s) failed
[ERROR] A frame member could not be created. The template file for ANSI ANSI AISC (Rectangular) - Flat Bar Steel could not be located in the Content Center library.
and no parts are put in the assembly.
I have updated the content centre etc and installed all the latest updates. I have also reinstalled Inventor and The local content centre but the error persists.
Ive included a couple of screen shots that show the error.
Please help as frame generator is useless until this is fixed and i need to design some frames.
Thanks for help in advance.

Hi cmharb,
You might want to check your project file and ensure that the Conent Center libraries are configured/included for it.
See the Configure Content Center Libraries topic listed under Procedures at this link:
I hope this helps.

Here's an image of the Configure dialog I found in another thread, you should see the ISO library listed as shown:
Yea they are all there.
The Bolt generator and Content Centre work fine, I can even insert Frame parts from the Content Centre but not using the Frame Generator
Can you try a different CC library other than ISO
Can you check the ISO library properties and file size
Can you get to this point?
yup, have a look at the images i posted on my first post. It gets all the way through the wizard sequence and just when the part is supposed to appear i get the error message.
the content centure is on the vault, and doesnt show size etc.
Probably a problem with your Vault settings then.

Hi cmharb,
In post 3 of this thread, you posted this image that seems to show that you're using the local Desktop Content libraries rather than the Vault Content libraries.
Is it possible that you have some paths pointing at one set of libraries and some at the other? You might go to the Tools tab > Application Options button > Content Center tab and check the paths there as well. It might be as simple as changing that path to point to the Vault libraries.
I hope this helps.

that was fromt he desktop content, i have been switching between trying to get the Frame Generator to work.
It looks like this now (see pic)
Having said that, everything else form the content centure works. Like placing steels, and the bolt generator etc.
Are you able to just place this steel from the CC, outside of Frame generator?

I have a similar issue. Same error message.
Using Inventor 2013 and Office 2010.
I do not use Vault.
I can place custom made CC parts no problem.
They are all authored as structural shapes.
They are all iparts using excel tables.
But interestingly if I delete the table and convert it back into a normal part, rather than an iPart, it places into frame generator without any problems. I believe the iPart to be be the issue.
Hi Ross,
Can you post one of your iparts here? Might be able to take a look at it.

Not been on here for a while...
The problem is fixed. I had a third party add-in for entering iPropertie information, when I uninstalled it everything worked fine.
Thanks for all your help
Glad you got it sorted out!

Are you using Inventor 2016, 2017, 2018, or 2019 under Windows 10? If so is your Windows 10 version 1903?
