Regarding constraints to origin planes and axis in sub assemblies.

You propose not to do that. In such case components move freely inside sub-assembly. therefore their position in their parent assembly is not defined.

I didn't let them move freely around, but I grounded one or more base components. That seems to be better for flexibility.

Hi,

I also have tried that (grounding instead of constraining to origin planes). Did not get fully stable behaviour. Maybe there was some difference but definitely did not get satisfactory result.

Anyway I will get back to this subject and try.

Hello,

is this topic already solved.  We are having the same issue here.  We are working with Inventor 2015.

Thanks,

@Anonymous

Hi,

according to my "user experience" nothing is solved.

I have tried every suggested approach. Nothing works stable.

There ware no changes in inventor that would make flexible assemblies work better.

You can support idea to fix this. Without pressure on Autodesk nothing will change.

fix flexible assemblies

Hi Geert,

Flexible assembly does have issues but not every case is the same. Have you shared the files with me? If not, I can set up a secure account for you to upload. Please send me an email directly (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com). I would like to take a look at the files and understand the issues better.

Many thanks!
