Flat Patter Problem

Hi Folks,

I've created a part that is one half of a round-to-slot transition for use in a piping system. I have created the part by lofting as a surface and then creating a thickness of 6mm.

The problem I am having is with trying to create a flat pattern. It seems to work with errors but the part is not completely flat.

I have attached the ipt file and also some screen snipes showing the folded part and the flat pattern.

Does anyone know why this might be? Any help/advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers

Mr SMP.

Yes - the problem is that this is a Lofted surface that has been thickened.  They fail 99.9% of the time.

For a shape like this, delete your Loft & thicken features keeping the 2 sketches, then create a sheet metal "Lofted Flange between them.  Done.

No problem.  Glad it worked.

If you wanted to do something in return, go and add kudos to a few of the Ideas on the Idea Station.

(Specifically this one!  One of my personal favourites.)
