Supressing a feature that other features depend on causes them to be faulty, as they may lose their sketch orientation and origin.
If you want to succesfully supress a feature without supressing others, make sure that they don't depend on it (either attached, or project geometry)
When using a pattern it also patterns the parent feature, which can mess it all up.
The easy solution I was looking for was unselecting the parent feature before patterning.
Thanks anyway!
