FEA Analysis Units & more

Hello All,

I just recently dived into the FEA/ Stress Analysis side of Inventor and need a little help. Is their anyway to input the magnitude of the force applied in a different units??? (i.e Newton) Right now I can only input the magnitude of the force as PSI.

So far, Stress analysis in Inventor is pretty easy to work with. Any help with changind the units would be great

Simply type in you units (or change your document units).

But Newtons is a unit of Force

and

PSI is a unit of Pressure.

Just like in any other Environment you can enter your units directly and Inventor will take care of conversion for you if needed.

But of course, you must enter the correct units for the parameter...

I would review these first before getting too deep into FEA.

JD,

This is true. In my particluar case, pascal would be my input unit.

I typed it in as you suggested. It worked

Although I input Pascal as my pressure, my results still give me KSI.

How do I get this switched over to Pascal as well??

Tools>Document Settings>Units

Set to mm and kilogram.

Are you sure you modeled the part with the correct units?

Hi @JDMather

Do you know if it is possible to get stress results in PSI?

KSI=1000xPSI
