Autodesk Inventor 2014 will not let you save a program.
When I go to Save AS and try to save it into the folder it
pops up a message saying "Problems encountered while
saving the document. Failed to create folder, H:"
The H drive it is refering to is a networked drive that students
have access too. They were able to save the previous year and
nothing has changed on the network since then.
If anyone has a solution it would be greatly apprciated.
Thanks,
Bryce
What program are you trying to save?
Can you post a screen shot of the Save dialog box - right before clicking on the Save.
Are you using Project (*.ipj) files?
Why are you doing Save As rather than a Save?
More information is needed.
Try the "Save Copy As" option
Ran into the same issue. I can save work in an existing file that is already on the network. I can save newly created files to my PC. But I cannot save a newly created file to the network drive. The work-around I've foung is to save it to your PC, close it, drag it to wherever you want it on your network, and then reopen and continue working.
It would be nice to figure out how to fix this issue.
And its the same issue for save, save as, and save as copy.
This seems like a very odd error, your "Work" locations where Inventor saves your files is controlled by your "Project" file. If you can save files to your network folders from your PC, then if your Inventor's Project file is corrected set up, you should have no problems saving your files to this location.
It does not seem to be a project file issue. Using different project files doesn't stop users saving files outside the working folder.
It looks likely a network issue. Talk to your IT guys and they may fix the problem.
I have the same problem couple years ago.
Hope this takes you into right direction.
