Export to DXF issue

Program: Inventor 2012

Type: Sheet Metal Mode

1. Right click my Flat Pattern

2. Select "Export Face As"

I select the option and I do FOUR separate test(2000,2004,2007,2010)
 and save each on accodingly

part_2000.dxf

part_2004.dxf

part_2007.dxf

part_2010.dxf

when I drag each of them into "AutoCAD 2009 - English Version 2" I get this

Unknown value "AC1024" encountered in drawing version.
Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded.

I understand 2010 not able but the last 3 from before 2009. Am I missing something here??

Hi

Dioes this happen with just one file, or andy sheet metal file that you save as a DXF?

Can you attach a DXF file that demonstrats this here?

Have you read this post, and or tried the suggestion of renaming and using the standard open method?

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

ok so from what it sounds

Code          Version

AC1027      AutoCAD 2013/2014
AC1024      AutoCAD 2010/2011/2012
AC1021      AutoCAD 2007/2008/2009
AC1018      AutoCAD 2004/2005/2006
AC1015      AutoCAD 2000/2000i/2002
AC1014      AutoCAD Release 14
AC1012      AutoCAD Release 13

I need Acad2010 minimum and beyond to fix this and see the .dxf?

Hi     jbelle7435,

So when I opened your file named part_2000.dxf with Microsoft Notepad, I see AC1024  in the header information, which made me think that the file is not actually getting saved out as a 2000 version DXF.

So then a quick search turned up this thread:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Inventor-General/Inventor-2012-export-dxf-versions/m-p/301009...

Which contains a link to this hotfix:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=17027483&linkID=9242019

But it appears that this hotfix is inlcuded in ServicePack 1, which is actually included in ServicePack 2, so I would suggest that you install SP2 from this link:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=19164683&linkID=9242019

I hope this helps.
