Error Upon Placing Subassembly into another assembly

Hi,

I am running into a problem when placing an assembly into another assembly. This is the error (copied from the dialog box) The funny thing is no resolve component dialog box appears. Anyone have any insight?

[ERROR] The selected assembly contains one or more unresolved subassemblies. Due to the possibility of cyclic dependencies the requested operation is not supported. [r:\Application\Am\Request\AMxPlaceCompRequest.cpp, line 330]

Ryan,

What's happening is the assembly you are trying to place has unresolved
components and Inventor doesn't allow that during placement. If you open
that assembly by itself you should get prompted to resolve the missing file.
Once you've cleared that up you should have no problem placing that assembly
into other assemblies.

Thanks!

Your right, when I open the subassembly it gives me the warning that there are some unresolved components but it won't tell me what they are and does not prompt me to resolve them.

Have you tried going into the Modeling View? This should show you any
unresolved components.

Even when I delete all the components in the assy, it shows the same error. I think the assy is corrupt and will try to rebuild it. Thanks for the advice.

Hi! I faced the same problem. But I resolved it by changing my file location- try keeping all parts of the assembly in the same folde on you pc.
