error reading autodesk inventor 2013 files w autodesk inventor 2012

hey peoples 

i have an issue with file formats 

the software that i have at home is an autodesk 2013

and at school i have an autodesk 2012 

 

it showas the error message when i open it 

 

Database schema for file E:\8th grade applied technology\Playground\Playground auto desk parts\Side fences1.ipt is (17.0 (Build 170095000, 95)), which is newer than this version (16.0 (Build 160160000, 160)) of the software.

 

what can i do?

save files out of 2013 as step files, only way to open new files in older software.

As typical in a lot of software, you can open older files in newer version of the software (they automatically migrate forward) but you cannot open newer version files in the older version of software (migrate backwards).

 

You'll have to save the file as a neutral format such as a STEP file that was previously mentioned.
