Error message when starting Inventor

I loaded Inventor Pro on a IBM Thinkpad and I'm getting the following message when try to open any file "cannot set up correct pixel resolution in current environment" Can't find anything in any of the help files or under Autodesk support.
Any one know what would cause this message? Windows XP problem or graphics card?

Look at the system requirements.... I think it requires a minimum of
1024x768 @ 32K colors. It should be in the Inventor software docs.

Aside from that, you will probably have to run the Generic Windows
OpenGL Driver selection in Tools > Application Options > Hardware

Thanks. I was afraid that might be the problem.

It looks like the graphics are OK (1024 x 768 @ 32) but I think I need more ram. I only have 512 and I understand that Inventor needs alot more to run correctly.

Time to hit the boss up for a new laptop.

512MB is adequate for smaller assemblies... that's not your problem.

Translation: "Your graphics driver has been checked
and found to be insufficient."

Inventor will then try to run in MS GDI generic
mode (software emulation of OpenGL).

I have 1 Gig of RAM and I still get "Cannot set up correct pixel format in current environment.

I'm running W2K and have ProE installed on it as well.

Please see your previous post on this subject..... "Setup Pixel format"....
Gary Smith already gave a solution process... We need your Graphics Card
make, model, and driver version......
