Editing scale pull down?

Can one edit scale pulldown in .idw (reason: limited selection of scales),
and why can't we enter fraction for the scale while creating view?

Anyone? Thanks

I think I understand your question... you want a scale like 1:5 or
something. So why not just enter in the decimal equivalent (0.2 for
example)?

Obviously, you can get any scale you want by typing in the appropriate
decimal value. It is somewhat unbelievable to me that you cannot also type
a fraction into the scale edit box.

I would love to be able to edit the scale pull-down list, but have been told
that it is not possible at this time. In my industry, for example, people
are used to seeing a scale listed as 3" = 1'-0", not 0.25, 1/4, or 1:4. Not
only that, we use an approved set of standard scales. Being able to enter
those options (as well as deleting non-standard scales) would be very
helpful.

What I mean is: when you create dwg view, in the dialog box, number of
scales in pulldown is very limited. Can one edit that so that more scales is
available. Also it is not letting you to enter scale as fractional number
(like 1/12 or so). Ultimately if you enter 0.0083 for 1/12 scale you are
actually off...
Also you have to remember decimal conversions (or use cheat sheet), although
it is drawing standard to show scale as 1:12 for example...
You know, little things that speed up the whole process.

Almir:

As Dave says, there is no way of editing the list or of entering fractions.

I agree with you all the way. Any or all of:
1/ Editing the list
2/ Having an expanded list
3/ Entering fractions

would be a really welcome edition to IV.
