Dynamic Simulation Welded Subassembly

Hi,

I am setting up a simulation where balls are moving on tracks and sprockets and chains are also employed.  Everything is running fine except for a certain subassembly within a flexibly subassembly.  I have automatic joint creation turned off.  Within simulation, is there no way to tell Inventor that the entire child subassembly is all welded together and to treat as a single part without expressly using welded joints on every part in that child sub?

Imagine a rod in a hole that rotates - only the rod is made of multiple parts.  Do I have to apply joints to all the parts that make up that rod so that they all rotate together?  Sorry - I can't attach parts.

Oops - never mind. Accidentally made the child subassembly flexible.
