DWF extension -turn off parts list printing

Can I turn off the printing of parts lists on separate pages somehow? This is a major pain for me, as I have no way to remove them from my dwf files.

No, there is no such option. You can only choose to publish the whole sheet
or not in "Custom" publishing.

I don't understand how this was hyped as a "feature" but noone could have the foresight to see that it is an annoyance. Why would I want to print out the parts list on a separate page? I obviously have it in my drawing already.

Seems I misunderstood your question. Are you talking about printing DWF
files in DWF Viewer? I thought you are trying to disable publishing parts
list into DWF files in Inventor. Sorry about that.
I tried printing in DWF Viewer. Seems I can disable parts list printing. In
the Print dialog, there is a "Print Range" option, you can specify "Current
sheet only" if you got only one sheet, or your can specify "Pages from ..."
to exclude the pages for parts list. Is that what you are looking for?

My workflow is to create individual dwf files, then use the Autodesk "mergefiles" utility (it's from one of the blog authors) to merge, for example, 10 dwf files into 1. Since I can't take out the extra parts lists at any point, I end up with a 20 page dwf file, instead of a 10 page dwf file. The parts list pages are interspersed so this multi-page dwf file is not suitable for distribution, nor is it convenient for printing. The only solution I have found is to reprint the individual dwf files to the dwfwriter driver one page at a time, then combining them with mergefiles. Needless to say, this extra step is not fun.

Reprinting the dwf file is not what I'm looking for, I want to disable the parts list feature in Inventor 11, dwf extension.

I will let our PD aware of your request. Thanks for letting us know this
issue.

I never use the "mergefiles" utility before. It sounds like it doesn't
provide any options on how to merge files. Did you try using "Autodesk
Design Review 2007" to merge multiple dwf files? It may provide more control
on how to merge files. Also I believe it allows you to delete any unwanted
pages in the dwf file, so after you use the "mergefiles" utility you can
delete those extra parts list pages before distribution. You may wanna post
your question on autodesk.dwf newsgroup for more information on "Autodesk
Design Review 2007".

Thanks.

Autodesk Design Review provides a UI to do the merging. This user is looking
for an API way to do this via an unattended process.

The mergefiles method used to work good. It still works well from the point fo view that it combines files and it's free. My issue is with the new parts list, and not being able to disable its creation.

I'm sure I could read about the API and program something to delete the unwanted pages. But why should I jump through hoops when it just worked before I "upgraded". In the meantime I'll just revert back to pre-extension Inventor 11, but hopefully this feature becomes optional in the future.

I think you'll have a hard time convincing me and others that the solution is buying another piece of Autodesk software.

Inventor 11 DWF Extension provides 3 publishing mode: Express, Complete and
Custom. The "Express" mode is supposed to behavior the same as pre-extension
Inventor 11. Which mode are you using? If you publish in Express mode the
dwf file contains extra page of parts list, then it's a bug. Please let me
know if it's your case. If so I will report this issue and try to get it
fixed ASAP.

Thanks.

OK, thanks! I was searching for an option in the custom tab to do this.
