During a repair I get ERROR 1311


Installer Information

 

Error 1311. Source file not found:


color=#0000ff>E:\inv1_pro10\bin\acadfeuiacabs\aiplocked\m97.cab.

verify that the file exists and that you can access
it.

 

The file dose exist I can accessed but retying just
throws up the error again.

 

Just what is error 1311 any way and why is there NEVER
any info about these error messages or how to correct
them.

Actually that is only PART of the fix there are two
entries in the windows registry to be changed.

 

When I checked my registry there were set to 0 any how
so it MUST be something else that was throwing up this problem because after
uninstalling and the reinstalling from scratch every thing was OK well apart
from the error cause by Flash Player 8 & 8a but I know what to do for that
one.

Try copying the DVD to the hard drive and
installing from the copy... don't know exactly why(askMmicrosoft), but it seems
to solve a host of error messages.

 

Also, If you have previous versions on IV on the
system that are not fully up to date with service packs, install errors on the
new install are likely. I had this one bite me a few weeks ago.

It was to do with some third party library files which
I'd never heard of let alone installed BUT the original problem "Internet
Explorer Script Error in help files IV 10" with the help files, posted further
up and I just cant get it sorted.

Got it sorted more by accident then anything else. I
decided to visit the Windows update pages and ended up down loading 76 updates.
It dose seem strange as I already had the updates installed but after they
reinstalled them selves everything, well almost everything is back to normal.
Apart from Roxio 9 that says there is no recording device yet again but that's a
simple thing to fix.

It is a stand alone computer and the fix on Desk is
ONLY partial the same info no MS there are TWO registry entries to correct. In
addition my registry entries were and are correctly set.
