Dual Monitors

I have been running a dual monitor set up for the past few months. It has
not been an optimal configuration i.e. a 19" (main screen and a very old 14"
that I am running e-mail and Inventor's Panel and Browser. While this
differential in monitor sizes has it definite draw backs, I do like the
concept. The 19" has died and now I am shopping for a replacement.
Question is: Do I want to revert back to a single monitor and upgrade to 21"
or dual 19" for approximately the same price?

If it was me I would go for dual 19s. A year ago I was running dual 17s,
and with a machine upgrade I gave in for 1 19. There isn't a day that goes
by that I want that second screen.

Should read:

There isn't a day that goes by that I (don't) want that second screen.

Yeah it would be nice ... I might as well shoot for the Minority Report

We use 24" monitors at 1600x1024, they have a different aspect ratio. While perhaps not cost effective I have no use for a second monitor while using one. At one time they were 1200 bucks then the price nearly doubled and I quit buying them. I have no idea what they cost now.
