Driven Length

I found a lot of usefull things in this forum and youtube but i cant find a good answer on this:

I would like a part, that if i place it into an assembly, that it asks for a parameter (for example the length).

Parts in the content center have this featere (for example tubes). I think this has to do with the driven length in the content center.

How do i create a driven length?

Create an IPART with a custom parameter field for the dimensions you want to change.

EDIT:

If you are not sure how to create an IPART, select Manage/Create iPART.   Add parameters that control the part and right mouse click on the column representing the parameter that you want to be driven and select "Custom Parameter Column"

Dear Lancasterm,

It works. thanks for your help.

I would never have found it.

It shows a different icon than the driven length

Thanks again
