DRIVE TWO CONSTRAINTS AT ONCE?

I have two cylinders in my main assembly, they both work just fine, the
problem is, when one is extended, the other should be retracted, is there
any way to do this besides driving one, and then driving the other?

Animator. www.sdotson.com. You could also use a function in the parameter of the
2nd constraint, but Animator is easier.

If you use parameters you should be able to do this. I.e. drive the first
cylinder extension with "a". Then set the extension of the second cylinder
to (1000-"a") or whatever the final extension should be. When you then
drive "a" the second cylinder should then follow in exactly the opposite
direction.

If they are mechanically linked in the assembly and are not the same
part/assembly (they have to be adaptive in either case) does freedom of
movement exist on the second cylinder?
If they are the same part then No. You could link with parameters is
probably what you want. Sean has a tutorial on his site I think.

OK DAVE, Maybe i'm doing something wrong. I downloaded animator, i got it
installed, and it opens up and everything, but i just don't understand how
to get the parameters from my cylinder assembly into animator from my main
assembly???? I'm pulling my hair out here.

Are the parameters in a subassembly? I think you can only have the top
level parameters. A workaround is to make the subs adaptive and create the
parameters to drive in the top level assembly.
