Drawing won't update

I am using Inventor Pro 2010.
I have a model and I am driving the dimensions from EXCEL. The model updates nicely when I change dimensions but the drawing (idw) does nothing. In the browser instead of the usual tree in the view there is this red lightning bolt and under them is a big plus (+) sign and the words Solid.... after it.
I was assuming that the lightning bolt meant something needed updating, but I can't find how this is done.

Can you select the red lighting bolt, then RMB (right mouse button) and see
what dialoge box pops up

I can't select the red lighting bolt, when I move my pointer over the bolt it says it needs updating, but the update icon is grayed out.
I allso check the delay update setting to ensure that it had not been checked.

Chuck,

Create a new empty sheet in the drawing (which you can delete later). While
that sheet is active, you can update the inactive sheets. Give it a try...

There's a wealth of information here, on YouTube, in the help file, and elsewhere on the web. What program are you transitioning from? There may be a transitioning guide around (I know there's one for Solid Works as I once had cause to read it) meant to help you shift into the Inventor mind set. What industry are you in? How much experience do you have in other CAD packages?

Some tips that may make your experience here easier...

Whenever possible include files or screen shots with your questions, so we can see what's happening.  Always post what version of the software you use... a lot of people put it right in thier signatures.  If you have a performance issue question, post your system specs in as much detail as possible, it helps the techie gurus in here determine if it may be a hardware issue.  There's a lot of people in here with very different backgrounds, so more info is always better.  And good luck!   🙂
