Is there some way in an Inventor idw drawing to 'hide' a page. I have created an extra page with information for future changes but do not want it to printed or be counted in the total number of sheets.

In your sheet list, highlight the sheet you want to "hide", right click and select Edit Sheet. A dialog opens and you can check, under Options, to either Exclude from Count, and/or Exclude from Printing.
I think this is the only way to do this and still have the sheet available for editing. I would assume that later, you could uncheck those and add it to the final sheet set.
