Draw Cycloidal gears with the Equation Editor

Hello together,

is it possible to draw cycloidal gears with the formula editor?

There is a video for NACA-Profiles (Airfoil Design Using Equation Curve Inventor😞

Thank you very much

Georg

I do not know how to start it. It does not work with the formulas.

What are the formulas you have?  Are your units consistent?

without information on your curves it is not possible to determine why it doesn't work for you.

Attached are some example curves (pull down EOP step-by-step.

The formula:

x=r(t - sin(t))

y=r(1- cos(t))

Thanks for your help

I am interested in a screen shot of how YOU are entering the formula.

zip and attach the sldprt file here.

(I will look at it and then, once again, I will ask you to show how you are attempting to enter the equation in Inventor.)

George,

I worked with your part a little.  Could not quite get the tooth profile correct, but I didnt have much time to mess with it.  The equations that you give does not quite work, or maybe I am missing something.

Hello Karthur1,

thank you very much for your help. I found a cycloidal gear generator which creates svg-files. Is it possible to create them in Inventor?

The source can be found here:

Thanks

Georg

I found the formula and a description for the cycloidal gear:
