Draft Inquiry

Hi

How to apply draft on letters embossed with a depth 0.05 in. on circular shaft ? I am trying to apply positive draft of 5 to 10 degrees on the sides of letters perpendicular to the face of circular shaft. Attached picture is for reference and has little RED shaded area onto which draft needs to be applied.

Thanks in advance !

You are more likely to get responses to your question if you attach *.ipt geometry file rather than image file.

IMO, lettering on a cylinder is too difficult. If you want no undercuts, you'd need to have varying draft angles.

Therefore I placed the letters on a workplane. Getting this result was not fast and easy.

See for yourself, by moving EOF from top to bottom.
