I am actually having a similar problem with tubes.  I try to populate a tube run, it will preview for a second and thenthe route doesn't actually populate.  No answers, but lend my support in desiring a solution...

Please give a kudos if helpful and mark as a solution if somehow I got it right.

Hi guys.

I've seen and experienced this before.  I have no idea what causes it.  Generally, for me, the fix has been (regrettably) deleting the failed route and re-doing it.  I also usually shut Inventor down and restart it first.  I know, not a great solution, but it gets the job done quicker than scratching my head and shaking my fist at the screen (I tried that too).

Could you make a screencast of the issue and post it here? Is this issue occurring with a particular style?

Hi Chris

Was there ever a result for this issue?

I cannot the route to populate in a certain assembly file. It was working fine, then i deleted to route and began a new route and now will not populate.

I can populate the route in other assembly files.

Regards

Paul

Let me rephrase my wording as I must have been drunk after reading it.

"I cannot get the route to populate in a certain assembly file. It was working fine, then I deleted the route and began a new route and now it will not populate."

As Nathan said, post a video, or at least some pics of what you are seeing.  Best thing would be to post a simple assembly that is exhibiting this behavior (if you can reproduce it).  It's very difficult to know what's happening here, just from the descriptions of a drunk man. 😉

I haven't been able to reproduce this in another assembly.

See link attached:

I cannot add assembly. Too large in size. And IP.

Found the issue.

This is a bug.

There is a substitute level of detail within the top level assembly. I tried deleting it and the route now populates.

I'll try updating the substitute part and see if this works as well.

No good.

Too get this route to populate I need to delete the substitute level of detail of detail.

May need to create a product support case on this one!

That might be the best approach, just in case it is a "bug" of sorts.

Product Support Case has been created.

I'll update this once complete.

Nate,

I am not sure that the situation I am facing with my user is the same as what KopexWaratah is seeing.  My user seems to be having more problems with just the styles and randomly not being able to populate hose runs.  Am having him perform a repair and reinstall to see if that helps, but he can just create simple runs with no substitute levels of detail and will still get the issue.  Not sure if this helps, but wanted to provide some more information.  Have an awesome and most blessed day!

Peace,
Pete
