Display Window Won't Max (again!)

Okay,

Last week I posted a thread called "Display Window Won't Maximize." In
that some folks helped me do a registry edit to get my drawing window
maximized since there was a problem with it. It worked great Friday,
worked great this morning, but after lunch today (monday) it 'forgot'
the registry edit, and reverted back.

I know how to fix it, but is anyone else seeing this problem? Is there
a permenant fix? Why is this acting different than in R6?

TIA,
-Jason

In the thread from the other day, the patch was "registryversion 6.0".
Did you edit that for "registryversion 7.0"? I have that in my registry,
but it is set to "0", and my windows max properly???

Yes... I did edit it for version 7. The edit I found is just a
copy-paste from an old post.

So, when you open regedit and drill down to that setting, does it
exist in the registry? Or is it being destroyed by logoff/logon? I'd
confirm the existence of the key with regedit and make your setting
there.

Yes. It exists in the registry. And it seems to stay put. I have had
to logoff and login again quite a few times today due to software
crashes. (After all, I'm an IV user) But, the key stays set, usually.
I was really suprised that it changed on me. It's only changed twice,
but I just think that's weird... I had to regedit and just change it back.

jason,
What you should do, is export it as working, then it's just a
doubleclk away from fixed. Just keep it in a real handy location. Also
check and see what it says in HKU, not just HKCU. Sometimes HKU can
trump HKCU.

I FOUND HOW TO BREAK IT!!!

Here's the scenario:
I'm working on an upper level assy with several sub assy's.
I have upper level *.iam open, and one of the sub-assy.iam's open too.
Looking at the upper level iam, I double-click on the sub-assy to edit.

BOOM! IV breaks. Well, maybe it just bends.

So, from this point forward my windows won't maximize until I go back to
the registry and edit it.

Anyone else having this problem?
-Jason

If I was having that problem, I'd reinstall W2K because it sounds like an OS
problem to me or a conflict with some other program.

I agree with Larry Jason. This setting drops out on me from time to time as
well. I intend to nuke the HD and re-install. Just haven't had the time
yet.

Hi!

Do you use nVidia's nView desktop manager? I had once similar problem, but
it fixed, when I disabled that manager.

Yes. I've got the nVidia manager working... how do you disable it? It
seems to want to run all the time even if I tell it to disable.

Sorry, i don't quite remember how i did it, but uncheck all boxes from
nView Desktop Manager. At least in Windows-tab. I dont have any checked box
in my desktop manager!
